Dear Students,

A warm welcome to ICFAI Business School (IBS) Hyderabad, one of the top business schools in India. IBS is a constituent of ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), a deemed to be University graded A++ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2022. IBS is one of the few B-schools in India to have received the prestigious international accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, USA, for three of its programs – BBA, MBA, and PhD – in 2020. AACSB is the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.

IBS is known for excellence in management education. An industry focused curriculum, student centered teaching, outcome-based learning goals, continuous performance evaluation of the students, continuously evolving faculty pool with expertise in research and teaching, a strong alumni base, and ever-supportive recruiters are among the contributing factors. The curriculum is regularly updated based on feedback from all the stakeholders, with the academic delivery being benchmarked against the best academic standards and practices. The pedagogy includes an assortment of lectures, cases, leadership development workshops, soft skills labs, projects, internships, games, and simulations. The Summer Internship Program (SIP) gives students the opportunity to experience the subtleties of a real-time corporate environment. Case-based discussions nurture their critical thinking and problem solving skills.

IBS has a strong research culture fostered through well-developed processes and systems that promote multidisciplinary research. The research activity is encouraged through sponsored and funded projects, participation in conferences, seminars and workshops, departmental seminars, lectures by eminent faculty from India and abroad, seed money projects, and so on.

The purpose of management education should seamlessly transcend the notion of inculcating future leaders with the skills needed to maintain the economic and sustainability goals to include the social, environmental and governance challenges of the present times. The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative by the United Nations draws attention to the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) and calls for alignment of the objectives of academic institutions with the goals. Toward this objective, the focus of management education at IBS has been evolving to accommodate the emerging technologies; digitalization, sustainability, and climate change; diversity, equity, and inclusion; entrepreneurship; and a hybrid work model in a digital world, among others.
