Theme Overview

In an era marked by the pressing challenges of climate change, resource depletion, and biodiversity loss, the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into sustainability practices has emerged as a transformative force. "AI-Driven Sustainability: Innovating for a better Tomorrow" captures the essence of how intelligent technologies are reshaping the global sustainability agenda—enhancing efficiency, enabling precision, and unlocking novel pathways for green innovation.

From a corporate standpoint, AI supports sustainability reporting and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance by automating data collection, identifying ESG risks, and benchmarking sustainability performance. Natural language processing (NLP) tools can scan company disclosures and media reports to detect greenwashing or unethical practices, thus promoting transparency and accountability.

AI offers powerful tools to advance sustainability goals across sectors. However, its deployment must be guided by ethical considerations, inclusive governance, and a precise alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As we strive for a greener tomorrow, AI should not only optimise systems — it must also inspire a more intelligent and responsible relationship with our planet. AI is reshaping not only technological frontiers but also how businesses define value, strategy, and Sustainability. For future business leaders, understanding how AI intersects with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) imperatives is essential. This conference examines the managerial, ethical, and strategic implications of AI as a catalyst for sustainable development, enabling firms to thrive while contributing to a more resilient and responsible world.

Suggested (but not limited to) Sub-Themes

1. Strategic Integration of AI in Sustainable Business Models

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly central to corporate sustainability strategies. AI’s ability to analyze massive datasets, optimize decision-making, and simulate long-term outcomes supports organizations aiming for environmental and social impact without compromising economic returns.

2. AI for ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance)

AI’s predictive and prescriptive analytics are redefining ESG analysis. As investors, regulators, and consumers demand transparency, AI plays a critical role in mining ESG data, assessing non-financial risks, and identifying greenwashing.

3. Strategy, Responsible AI, and Ethical Governance

AI must be aligned with planetary and human values to be a tool for sustainability. Ethical frameworks are required to avoid algorithmic bias, environmental exploitation, and social exclusion.

4. AI-Enabled Operations and Sustainable Supply Chains

AI technologies optimize the entire product lifecycle from raw material sourcing to end-of-life disposal. Predictive analytics, real-time tracking, and blockchain-based transparency are making supply chains greener.

5. AI-Backed Sustainable Marketing and Consumer Insights

AI is revolutionizing how businesses understand and influence eco-conscious consumer behavior through behavioral analytics and customized outreach.

6. Strategic Foresight and Scenario Planning with AI

AI enhances strategic foresight by simulating alternate futures, enabling companies and policymakers to better prepare for climate shocks, regulatory shifts, and technological disruptions. It combines scenario planning, machine learning, and systems thinking to improve resilience and long-term vision.

7. AI in Healthcare

(In Diagnostics and Treatment, Personalized medicine, Drug discovery and development, Virtual health assistants)

8. Strategic Alliances and Open Innovation for Sustainability

Tackling global challenges like climate change requires collaboration. Firms are now forming ecosystem-level alliances using AI to co-create solutions and share sustainability intelligence.

9. Policy, Regulation & Strategic Compliance in the AI-Sustainability Nexus

Global firms must now navigate evolving regulations on AI ethics, carbon emissions, and sustainable reporting—making regulatory foresight a critical capability. This connects corporate strategy with evolving governance and compliance frameworks. (e.g., Strategic responses to AI ethics laws (e.g., EU AI Act, Carbon pricing and emissions strategy)
