The Part-time PhD Program in Management is designed for practising corporate executives, faculty members and research scholars who aspire to become thought leaders in the domain of academic research. The Part-time PhD Program works in an almost similar manner as the Full-time PhD Program. The course work is completed over a period of two years and the candidate is expected to make eight visits to campus for 9 days each. The processes related to PhD Qualifying Examination, Thesis Proposal submission & approval and Thesis submission and Viva voce are the same as the Full-time PhD Program.
The PhD. Program is rigorous and interdisciplinary. It is regularly updated, benchmarking the academic delivery against the best standards. The intensity of the program demands energy and zeal in pursuit of greater insight into the chosen topic and a willingness to master all essential components of academic research. The program has four phases, namely, Coursework, Qualifying Examination, Preparation of Thesis Proposal and Thesis Work & Submission of Thesis.

Eligibilty Criteria
- Graduation (any discipline) with 50% and above marks with medium of instruction as English and
- Post graduation in Management ( full time with specialization in Marketing/ Finance/ Human Resource Management/ Operations from an UGC approved University) with 55% and above marks or
- A professional qualification like CFA/ CA/ CWA/ CS with 55% and above marks.
- All applicants should have completed a minimum of 17 years of education (on 10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2 basis).
Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium
in graduation and/ or post graduation have to submit the TOEFL /
NELT / IELTS score by May 31, 2022.
Eligibility criteria will be checked from August, 2022 onwards.
Hence, the onus of ensuring that they satisfy the eligibility
criteria rests solely with the candidates.
Selection Process
Selection Process for the PhD programs is conducted online for the candidates shortlisted based on (IBSAT2020/GMAT/CAT 2020/ NMAT by GMACTM 2020 scores). The admission decision is based on the overall performance of the candidate. A composite score is computed for each candidate based on his/her past academic record and performance in the Aptitude Test in Research Methods, Micro Presentation Technical cum Personal Interview.

Registration for the Selection Process
All the candidates are required to register for the Selection Process 2 days prior to the date of interview confirmed by you.
Submission of Documents
Candidates are required to upload the following documents.
- Application form(duly filled in with photo affixed)
- Self attested photocopies of marks sheets of Graduation and Post Graduation.
Candidates will not be permitted to attend the selection process if they do not upload the above documents. Please upload the certificates by using the www.ibsindia.org/ ibsat2022 if you have not already done.

Selection Process
The Online Selection Process comprises of an Aptitude Test
in Research Methods, Micro-presentation and an Interview.The
aptitude test in Research Methods is to assess the candidates
fundamental understanding in statistics.The judging panel for the
micro-presentation will assess the candidate’s communication
and presentation skills.The candidates are expected to prepare
a power point presentation on a topic of their interest from
their area of specialization and the duration should be limited to
15 minutes.The interview panel will attempt to understand the
candidate’s profile and the commitment to opt for an academic
career.The purpose is also to assess the intellectual abilities and
the research aptitude and will focus on in-depth knowledge of
the domain area that the candidate wishes to specialize in.
The results of the Selection Process will be declared in the1st
week of April, 2022.

Registration and commencement of classes

Admission Procedure
The candidates seeking admission to Ph.D program in Economics have to appear for an entrance test and an interview.
Fee Structure
The selected candidates have to pay an Admission Fee of Rs.
40,000 on or before April 22, 2022.
The Program fee of Rs.60,000 per semester is to be paid for
8 semesters.
The first installment of Program fee is to be paid on
June 01, 2022. The detailed fee schedule will be provided
along with the Selection Letter. Please note that there is
neither fee waiver nor fellowship/stipend for Part-time Ph.D
Program candidates.
Student successfully completing the Ph.D. Program can pursue
their careers in any organization of their choice. They may
also apply to IBS Hyderabad based on the vacancies available.
