Science Day, observed annually on February 28th, celebrates the marvels of scientific exploration and pivotal discoveries. One such milestone is the Raman Effect, named after the distinguished Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman. Discovered in 1928, the Raman Effect reveals the intriguing phenomenon of light scattering when interacting with molecules. This groundbreaking revelation not only confirmed the quantum nature of light but also revolutionized modern spectroscopy. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930, the Raman Effect stands as a symbol of scientific ingenuity, inspiring future generations of researchers and innovators.
In honour of Science Day 2024, the Asana club from the Faculty of Science and Technology, IFHE, warmly invited 60 students from three government high schools, including Tangatur, Proddutur, and Maharajpet. Our objective was not just to celebrate, but to provide these students with valuable motivation and insight into higher education.
The festivities commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the enlightenment that scientific exploration brings to humanity. Esteemed guests, including our Honourable Director, Professor K.L. Narayana, honoured the occasion with their presence. Professor K.L. Narayana also delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the students to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience, instilling in them the importance of hard work and perseverance.
