The aim of the workshop is to help faculty at the forefront of the ever evolving understanding of how students learn and what types of best practices good teachers should engage in. The workshop gave faculty the building blocks they need in order to engage their students and design good courses that foster student learning. Central to the workshop is the exploration of pedagogical styles that facilitate transformative learning experiences. Participants discover how active learning methodologies, such as problem-based learning, project-based learning, and experiential learning, can be tailored to integrate sustainability into the curriculum. Through interactive exercises and case studies, educators gain insights into designing engaging learning activities that foster critical thinking, collaboration, and systems thinking skills among students.

Moreover, the workshop showcases the effectiveness of incorporating sustainability into various pedagogical frameworks, including flipped classrooms, inquiry-based learning, and collaborative learning communities. Participants learn how to create inclusive and participatory learning environments that empower students to explore complex sustainability issues and develop practical solutions. A key highlight of the workshop is the exploration of technology-enhanced teaching tools and resources for teaching sustainability. Educators discover how digital platforms, multimedia resources, and online simulations can be utilized to enhance student engagement and facilitate deeper learning experiences in sustainability education. Throughout the workshop, collaborative learning and knowledge sharing are encouraged among participants from diverse academic backgrounds. Educators have the opportunity to exchange best practices, challenges, and innovative ideas for teaching sustainability, fostering a supportive community of practice.
