Department Profile - Finance
- The Department of Finance and Accounting came into existence in 1995. The department is a part of IBS Hyderabad, the Faculty of Management of the University. Currently, the department has sixty faculty members involved in teaching, research and administration.
- Forty seven of these are Ph.D holders.
Teaching
- The department offers courses in PhD in Management, MBA, BBA and BBA-LLB (Hons) programs of the University.
- Members of the department also academically contribute to the Management Development Programs of the Centre for Management Development of the University.
Research and Publications
- The major thrust areas in which research activities are being pursued are, Dynamics of Equity, Commodity, and Derivative Markets, Insider Trading and Market Efficiency, Corporate Governance, Price Discovery Process in Equity and Commodity markets, Microfinance, Financial Inclusion, Islamic Finance, Sustainable Finance, FinTech, Financial Regulation and Liberalization, Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Structure Decisions, Financial Risk Management, Basel norms, Electricity market, Tunneling in Business Groups, Intellectual Capital and Firm Valuation, Mutual Funds, Dividend Policy, etc.
Department Profile – Marketing and Strategy
- The Department of Marketing & Strategy came into existence in 1995. The department is a part of IBS Hyderabad, the Faculty of Management of the University.
- Currently, the department has fifty two faculty members involved in teaching, research and administration. Twenty seven of these are Ph.D holders.
Teaching
- The department offers courses as part of PhD in Management, MBA, BBA and BBA-LLB (Hons) programs of the University.
- Members of the department also teach courses offered by the Operations Management area as well.
Research and Publications
- Faculty members in the department actively engage in research and publications and a significant proportion of papers are published in ABDC and Scopus listed journals.
- Core areas of research in the department are Services Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Retailing, and Brand Management.
- Nearly 70% of the publications by faculty feature in reputed International journals and the rest in prominent national journals.
Conferences Organised
The Department organizes a conference called ICOMBS (International Conference on Marketing and Business Strategy). Six conferences have been organized since 2008. Faculty members from different institutions had the opportunity to present research papers and case studies during ICOMBS
Department Profile – Operations and IT
- The Department of Operations and Information Technology came into existence in 1995. The department is a part of IBS Hyderabad, the Faculty of Management of the University.
- The department has two major areas of focus – Operations and Information Technology. Currently, the department has forty four faculty members involved in teaching, research and administration. Of these, thirty seven are Doctorates.
Teaching
The department offers various courses as part of PhD in Management, MBA, BBA and BBA-LLB (Hons.) programs of the University. The department also academically contributes to the Workshops/Faculty Development Programs and Management Development Programs of the Centre for Management Development of the University.
Research and Publications
The major thrust areas in which research activities are being pursued are Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, Project Management, Information Security, e-Governance, Analytics and Decision Support Systems. Faculty members of the department have published research papers in reputed peer reviewed national and international journals such as Information and Management, Intelligent Information Systems, Business Theory and Practice, Requirements Engineering, Information Technology, etc. Besides, the faculty members have published many books and chapters/articles in original/edited books, conference proceedings etc.
The Department brings out a peer-reviewed journal titled IUP Journal of Knowledge Management.
Department Profile – Human Resource and Soft Skills
The Department of HR and Soft Skills came into existence in 1995. The department is a part of IBS Hyderabad, the Faculty of Management of the University. Currently, the department has thirty eight faculty members involved in teaching, research and administration. 18 of these are Ph.D holders.

Teaching The department offers courses as part of PhD in Management, MBA, BBA and BBA-LLB (Hons) programs of the University. In addition, the department also academically contribute to the Case Research centre and to the Management Development Programs of the Centre for Management Development of the University.

Research and Publications The major thrust areas in which research activities are being pursued are Organisational Citizenship Behaviour, Competency mapping & Assessment, Conflict Management, Positive Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, Soft Skills and Business Communication.
