WHAT YOU WILL DEVELOP
Goals & Skills
A graduate of ISArch is not only a designer — they are a thinker, a maker, and a socially conscious professional. These six areas define the competencies we develop across the five years of the program.
Professional learning
Every student is trained to grasp an idea, transform it through rigorous thinking, and realise it as a complete architectural program — from concept to built form.
Social & cultural thinking
Designing for another human being demands empathy and sensitivity. Students learn to situate their work within a broader social and cultural context, making architecture a meaningful act of contribution.
Digital technology
Students are introduced to the latest digital tools, fabrication methods, and environmentally sensitive design workflows — equipping them to work at the frontier of contemporary practice.
Urbanism & sustainable practices
Through real scenarios and design challenges, students learn to integrate sustainable strategies and material research into culturally resonant solutions — at every scale, from building to city.
Critical thinking
Creative, analytical, and intellectual reasoning are trained in equal measure. Students develop the capacity to interrogate architectural and environmental problems — and to form original, well-argued responses.
Professional knowledge
The studio culture at ISArch actively builds transferable skills — communication, leadership, and teamwork — alongside technical expertise. The aim is a complete professional: confident, collaborative, and ready for practice.
These six competencies do not sit in isolation — they are developed together, through the design studio, so that each student graduates as a whole, considered, and capable architect.
