Message from the Vice Chancellor
- It is my privilege to welcome you to the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad.
- Over the past four decades, IFHE has evolved into a vibrant, multidisciplinary university with schools spanning management, technology, law, architecture, and social sciences. With a growing community of students and faculty, our picturesque campus provides an environment where aspiration meets learning, anchored firmly in our philosophy of student- centred education.
- We are living through an era of unprecedented technological and industrial transformation, accompanied by global economic and geopolitical uncertainties. Automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven technologies are reshaping business, industry, trade, and governance. Professional skills and practices are evolving at a pace that often exceeds the ability of traditional curricula to keep up. In keeping with the vision of NEP 2020, multidisciplinary learning and skilling have therefore become a central mission at IFHE.
- We have embraced multidisciplinary academic structures, flexible credit systems, multiple entry and exit pathways, and a stronger emphasis on skills, innovation, and research across our schools. Our founder, Shri N. J. Yasaswy, consistently championed the idea of an agile curriculum—one that responds to professional practice and societal needs rather than being constrained by institutional bureaucracy. This philosophy continues to guide IFHE, keeping us at the forefront of curriculum innovation.
- IFHE has also made a significant contribution to teaching and research in higher education through its Case Research Centre and Research Publications Division. Case-based teaching remains one of our distinctive pedagogical approaches, enabling students to engage with real- world dilemmas, navigate ambiguity, and confront complex decision-making challenges. This is complemented by industry-linked projects and rigorous capstone assignments, through which students apply classroom knowledge to authentic and often unstructured problems. Industry internships further provide valuable opportunities for students to acquire practical skills and professional exposure well before graduation. Our laboratories, library, and digital infrastructure are among our key academic assets and are continuously upgraded to meet emerging needs.
- Artificial intelligence and AI-enabled skilling have now become a strategic priority for IFHE. We are steadily transforming IFHE into an AI-augmented university, where technology enhances teaching, learning, research, and professional preparation. Yet, as we embrace AI, we are equally conscious of the enduring importance of human qualities. Where AI reaches its limits, human character becomes even more important.
- We therefore place strong emphasis on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) as a means of nurturing human capabilities, wisdom, values, and a deeper sense of purpose. Our goal is not merely to produce graduates who are technically competent, but individuals who are ethical, empathetic, resilient, intellectually curious, and capable of adapting to a rapidly changing world.
- At IFHE, we believe that the university of the future must combine technological excellence with human excellence. Our endeavour is to prepare young people not simply for the jobs of today, but to become responsible professionals, thoughtful citizens, and leaders who can shape the future with competence, character, and conviction. I welcome you to join us in our mission.
Dr. A. Vinay Kumar
Vice Chancellor, IFHE Hyderabad
